Main Street and the Rockville City Police are again partnering to host a Neighborhood Health and Safety Day! This year's event will be held on Saturday, June 6 from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm

Monroe Place and the first floor of Main Street will be filled with fun and educational resources and opportunities for all ages: 
 

  • Chat with first responders and view a fire truck and police cruisers up close
  • Visit the Fire Safety House, a mini house on wheels, to learn about fire hazards in the home 
  • Watch a bicycle safety demonstration (at 10:45 am and 11:45 am)
  • See a K-9 demo with Dare, a four-legged, floppy-eared member of the Rockville Police K-9 team (at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm)
  • Learn what to expect if you get pulled over through a mock traffic stop (from 11:15 to 11:45 am)
  • Join a push-up contest (12:15 pm) 
  • Dance to upbeat tunes with DJ Matt
  • See a hands-only CPR demonstration
  • Play the "pick your poison" game to learn about household safety
  • Get your face painted
  • Enjoy a frozen treat (free to the first 100 people)
  • Connect with friends and neighbors
  • Purchase delicious food from The Bean Bag at Main Street

EVENT PASSPORT, PRIZES AND RAFFLE


Earn a prize and enter a raffle by filling your event passport! Follow these steps:
 

  • Check in at the Main Street front desk to get your passport
  • Visit at least 12 exhibitors and have them stamp your passport
  • Stop by the Main Street table in the lobby to get a small prize (while supplies last) and to enter a raffle for a larger prize!

 

Raffle prizes include a Mission BBQ basket, City of Rockville Police basket, Michael Jordan gym bag, Michael Jordan backpack, and more!


GETTING THERE
 

  • Public transportation: Main Street is 500 feet from the Rockville Metro and bus station and there is a pedestrian overpass over Rockville Pike.
  • Metered street parking is available on surrounding streets and will be free during the event!
  • Public parking garages are located at:
  • Please note:
    • The parking garage at 51 Monroe Place will not be accessible during this event.
    • Parking is not allowed at 90 Monroe Street (the building next to Main Street at the corner of Monroe Place and Monroe Street). 


WEATHER


This will be a great event whatever the weather! We are planning to have exhibitors both inside the Main Street building and out on Monroe Place. However, if it rains, the event will take place inside the building and under Main Street's covered driveway. So join us rain or shine!
