Join us for this very special collaboration between Main Street and Best Buddies! Mary Schafhauser, Best Buddies VA/DC's Director of Development and beloved Main Street volunteer, and her team will be leading us in a four-part educational series through the month of November. You are welcome to join all four sessions, or just the ones you are most interested in. Today's session will be about Personal Mission Statements and Elevator Pitches.

Knowing what matters most to you, and being able to share it confidently, is a powerful skill! In this session, we’ll work on creating your personal mission statement, a short sentence that describes your values, passions, and goals. Then, we’ll practice turning that mission into an “elevator pitch”, a simple introduction you can use at school, work, or in the community. Together, we’ll practice:

· Identifying your personal values and strengths

· Writing a mission statement that reflects what’s important to you

· Turning your mission into a short, confident introduction

· Practicing your elevator pitch with peers

By the end of the session, you’ll have a mission statement that inspires you and the words to share it confidently with others.

* If you are non-member and you register for this class, you are invited to stay for our members-only Sunday Social program from 6:00 - 7:00 pm, immediately following the class, for no additional fee!
